He follows Zayn and Meghan Trainor scaling back or canceling their tours entirely.
Yet another musician’s tour is not seeing the light of day (at least, temporarily). On May 2, Post Malone announced the decision to cancel the first three weeks of his upcoming tour, citing his need to finish working on music before formally heading out on the road.
“I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before tour starts,” he shared in a statement. “We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done.”
“That being said, I’m so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with yall,” Posty’s statement continued, before concluding the statement by teasing “badass shit” on his double album and promising to get back on the road again soon.
This marks the third tour date cancellation by a major artist in the past two weeks. Most recently, Zayn canceled all of the U.S. dates on his upcoming KONNAKOL Tour following a recent hospitalization.
“To my fans: Thank you so much for all the support and love you’ve shown me on the album release and more importantly your love, prayers, and well wishes for my health,” he wrote in a May 1 Instagram Story. “I’ve felt it, and it’s meant the world. I’ve been at home recovering and I’m doing well and will be better and stronger than before. I’ve had to take another look at my schedule for the months ahead and have to reduce the number of shows on the KONNAKOL Tour.
“I want to make sure I still get out and see as many of you as I possibly can. I’m really looking forward to playing these shows for you, and I hope to see the rest of you around the world very soon. Big Love, Z.”

Meghan Trainor canceled her Get in Girl tour in its entirety on April 17, explaining that balancing family, work, and a new baby has proven to be more of a daunting task than she initially thought.
“After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the ‘Get in Girl’ tour,” she wrote on Instagram. “Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now.”
“I know this will come as a disappointment to my fans, and I am so sorry to let you down. But I know this is the right decision for my family and me right now,” she added. “I promise I’ll be back soon, and I can’t wait for you to hear this new record. I’m so proud of it and I’m endlessly grateful for your love and support always.”
