A$AP Rocky shared how he and Rihanna spent the moments before welcoming each of their children.
The Don’t Be Dumb rapper, 37, recently spoke with VIBE in an exclusive interview for their summer 2026 cover, where he talked about his life as an artist, fashion icon and father of three. Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, gave insight into how he and the Anti artist, 38, spent the moments before she gave birth to their two sons, Riot, 2, and RZA, 4, and daughter Rocki, 8 months.
“It was just so exciting because you just don’t know what to prepare for,” he told the outlet. “You don’t know what’s to come, so the second and third time was really similar to the first experience. We were laughing while she was in labor, literally laughing and cracking jokes and s–t.”
Elsewhere in the conversation, Rocky opened up to the outlet about how he defines fatherhood, revealing how he tries to show up as a dad for his family.
“Being emotionally present, emotionally available, receptive, still endearing, but not only that, loving,” he said. “That’s easy. That’s me all day. That’s just me.”
The Harlem native acknowledged that his children will definitely have it easier than he did as they grow up. However, Rocky shared that he doesn’t intend to let his children lean into their privilege, adding he wants to “keep them humble.”
“I want to make sure that I teach my boys discipline and keep them grounded, keep them humble as much as possible,” he said. “Because they could be considered nepo babies. I got to make sure they chill with their cousins, the rough cousins that’s going keep them on their toes.”

Back in December, the Highest 2 Lowest star chatted with Extra and shared an update on his kids. During the conversation, Rocky shared the one thing that surprises him about the sibling dynamic with his older sons.
“Well, I’m surprised that the older two [are] getting along as much as they are,” he told the outlet. “You know, usually for them to be so close and age, [they’d] fight a lot, but [we’re] a happy family.”
Elsewhere on the carpet, Rihanna also raved about her little ones with Extra. The “Diamonds” singer told the outlet that her little ones are “amazing” and growing up fast.
“The babies are amazing. They’re all getting bigger, and I cannot take it,” she said. “My sons, oh my god, their faces are changing. Their necks are getting longer. I love it.”
