Linkin Park’s

Whenever any artist, whether established or brand new, reaches any chart with a song, there’s reason to celebrate. Even the most beloved acts in history can falter and see their time in the spotlight disappear. Scoring a hit is never guaranteed, and churning out a tune that lives on any ranking for months, if not years, is a statistical rarity.

There are a handful of genre-specific tallies in the United Kingdom that look only at the top-selling tunes in hip-hop, dance and rock, and a handful of artists regularly appear with some of their most successful cuts. Linkin Park can often be found on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart, and more often than not, with four, five, six or even seven smashes simultaneously.

That’s the case again this frame, and as Linkin Park once again proves itself to be one of the top-selling rock bands of all time in the nation, one of the Grammy-winning outfit’s most popular songs brings the troupe to a milestone – again, that is.

Linkin Park’s “Somewhere I Belong” Hits 100 Weeks

“Somewhere I Belong,” one of Linkin Park’s oldest promotional tunes, is one of the band’s top performers on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart at the moment. As the song holds on again within the upper half of the 40-space rundown, it celebrates 100 weeks as one of the most popular hard rock, rock or metal tracks in the U.K.

Linkin Park Has Seen Seven Hits Reach That Milestone

Many musicians and groups would be lucky to see even one single make it to triple-digit frames on any tally, but for Linkin Park, the feat is becoming something of a common occurrence. “Somewhere I Belong” is the band’s seventh release to hit that figure.

“Numb” is far and away the outfit’s longest-running win, as it is up to 945 frames on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart. Up next is “What I’ve Done,” which recently passed a decade as a bestseller. “Somewhere I Belong” is one of five additional tunes by Linkin Park that have made it to 100 weeks on the tally, but not yet 200. That roundup also includes “One Step Closer” (194 weeks), “New Divide” (158), “Faint” (146) and “Crawling” (113).

Linkin Park Claims Half a Dozen Hits This Week
Linkin Park occupies half a dozen slots on the current edition of the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart, which is a typical showing for the band. “Numb” remains the group’s sole top 10 at the moment, as it holds at No. 7. “Somewhere I Belong” stands out as the second-highest-peaking this time around, even as it slips one rung to No. 15. “Faint,” “What I’ve Done” and “The Emptiness Machine” also decline slightly, sliding to Nos. 16, 26 and 30, respectively. “One Step Closer,” which rounds out the act’s six winners, is comfortable once again at No. 32.

“Somewhere I Belong” Once Ruled the Rock Chart
“Somewhere I Belong” is counted among Linkin Park’s milestone 15 champions on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart. It launched in first place in March 2003 and racked up four stays at the summit.

Here are all of Linkin Park’s No. 1s on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart.

  • “Bleed It Out”
  • “Burn It Down”
  • “Faint”
  • “High Voltage / Points of Authority”
  • “In the End”
  • “Lost”

  • “Rolling in the Deep”
  • “Somewhere I Belong”
