Their sixth album arrives on May 29 and features contributions from My Chemical Romance’s Frank Iero, Chevelle’s Kemble Walters and Carlos Arévalo of Chicano Batman

Sparta have announced a UK and European tour to celebrate their new album ‘Cut A Silhouette’. Find all the details below.

Their sixth LP is set to arrive on May 29 via Equal Vision/Rude Records – you can pre-order it here. So far, it’s been previewed by the single ‘Everything You Say‘.

Now, Texas alt-rock band have announced their return to the UK and Europe for a tour this October, which is set to kick off in Dublin.

They’ll play shows in Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, London and more across the UK, before heading to Paris, Cologne, and Hamburg, wrapping up with a show in Kortrijk, Belgium, on October 22.

Speaking on the upcoming shows, frontman Jim Ward said: “There is no better feeling than hopping on a plane to cross an ocean to play music. The gift of travel, friends, sweat and rock and roll is one that I’ll be forever grateful for.

“This new record is a special one; it’s something you can’t plan for, but when the stars align, and the songs come together, you’ve got to just go, go, go – so we will. We can’t wait to get back to some of our favourite cities with some of our favourite people.”

You can find a full list of dates below, and find tickets here.

The upcoming album was inspired by a quote from Macaulay Culkin in a documentary about the late comedian John Candy, with Culkin describing Candy’s presence as something that “just entered your brain and cut a silhouette”.

The phrase stuck with Ward and resonated his ambition for new music from the band. ‘Cut A Silhouette’ is produced by J. Robbins and features contributions from My Chemical Romance‘s Frank Iero, Chevelle‘s Kemble Walters and Carlos Arévalo of Chicano Batman.

The ‘Cut A Silhouette’ track listing is:

‘Split Lip’
‘Crater’
‘Mouthbreather’

‘Daydream’
‘See You Soon’
‘Everything You Say’
‘Without Your Hands’
‘Midnights’

‘Mystery Of Missing’
‘Glimmer’

Ward has also described the album as a “love record” and a return to the band’s core creative chemistry, per a press release.
