The BET Awards 2026 is around the corner and will honor some of music’s most revered names with a packed slate of tribute performances.
This year’s show, which airs live tomorrow (June 28), will salute Lauryn Hill as she receives the Living Legend Icon Award. It will also celebrate the lives and legacies of D’Angelo and Richard Smallwood.
For the festivities, an exciting array of names has been lined up.

Hill’s tribute is shaping up to be one of the night’s biggest moments, with Doja Cat, Lizzo, Doechii, Nas, Queen Latifah, Rapsody, Selah, Tierra Whack, The War and Treaty, YG Marley, Zion Marley, Alexia Jayy, Common, and more set to take the stage.
The late D’Angelo will be honored with performances from RAYE, Durand Bernarr, Ari Lennox, BJ the Chicago Kid, and George Clinton. The segment will also include his children for what BET is billing as a deeply personal family moment.
Smallwood’s Gospel legacy will anchor the In Memoriam tribute, with Erica Campbell and Le’Andria Johnson performing in his honor.
Hosted by Druski from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the Culture’s Biggest Night will also feature performances from Cardi B, Baby Keem, Don Toliver, Kehlani, Tems, T.I., Rick Ross, French Montana, and more.
