Answer:
Was It For Me’ was born from reflecting on a love that didn’t add up. I wanted to explore that feeling of asking, ‘Did you ever really do this for me?’ It’s personal, but I wrote it in a way that others who’ve had similar experiences can connect with.

The song mixes Afro fusion with a fun summer vibe. Was that intentional?
Answer:
Absolutely. Even though the theme is emotional, I wanted the sound to feel light and relatable. People process pain differently, for me, turning heartbreak into a summer anthem felt empowering.

You’ve released songs like ‘Like Dat,’ ‘Find You,’ and ‘You Won’t Go’ before this one. What makes ‘Was It For Me’ stand out in your journey?
Answer:
This one feels like a turning point. The response has been massive, and I think people are connecting with both the story and the vibe. It shows my evolution as an artist.

You started singing in your teenage years and even snuck into studios at seventeen. What drove that passion?
Answer:
Music has always been my safe space. At 17, I wasn’t thinking of rules, I was thinking of sound, purpose, and expression. That curiosity pushed me into studios before I even knew the path clearly.

Balancing academics and music isn’t easy. How do you manage being a student and an artist?
Answer:
It’s definitely not easy, but I’m very intentional. I treat both my degree and my music career with equal seriousness. Planning, discipline, and passion are how I make it work.

You’ve mentioned your parents didn’t always know where you were when you recorded music. How do they feel about your career now?
Answer:
They’re proud now. Back then, they didn’t fully understand the dream. But as they saw the results and the recognition, they became very supportive.

You’ve said you want to inspire young musicians in school. What message do you have for them?
Answer:
That it’s possible to excel at both. You don’t have to abandon your passion to get an education, and you don’t have to drop your education to pursue music. It’s all about believing in yourself and staying consistent.

Have there been moments you felt like giving up?
Answer:
Many times. The journey hasn’t been smooth, from access to resources to societal expectations. But music always pulls me back. It’s my anchor and my voice.

What role does your Ghanaian background play in your music?
Answer:
A huge role. The rhythms, the storytelling, the emotion, it’s all influenced by my roots. Even when I experiment with fusion, there’s always a Ghanaian heartbeat in my sound.
