The acclaimed heavy metal band Mastodon is hitting the road later this year for the first time since one of its founding members died last year.

The “Poisonous Weapons” tour will take place this September and October and include two stops in the Keystone state — the first at Stage AE in Pittsburgh on Sept. 19 and the second at Franklin Music Hall in Philadelphia on Sept. 22.

The band Deafheaven will be the opening act for both of those shows.

Other stops along the tour include:

  • Sept. 16 — Orlando, Fla.

  • Sept. 18 — Asheville, N.C.

  • Sept. 20 — Louisville, Ky.

  • Sept. 23 — Boston, Mass.

  • Sept. 24 — Brooklyn, N.Y.

  • Sept. 27 — Montreal, Quebec

  • Sept. 28 — Toronto, Ontario

  • Sept. 29 — Buffalo, N.Y.

  • Oct. 1 — Detroit, Mich.

  • Oct. 2 — Chicago, Ill.

  • Oct. 3 — Minneapolis, Minn.

  • Oct. 6 — Salt Lake City, Utah

  • Oct. 7 — Boise, Idaho

  • Oct. 9 — Oakland, Calif.

  • Oct. 10 — Los Angeles, Calif.

  • Oct. 11 — San Diego, Calif.

  • Oct. 14 — Denver, Colo.

  • Oct. 16 — Des Moines, Iowa

  • Oct. 17 — St. Louis, Mo.

  • Oct. 18 — Memphis, Tenn.

  • Oct. 20 — Cleveland, Ohio

  • Oct. 21 — Greensboro, N.C.

  • Oct. 22 — Atlanta, Ga.

  • Oct. 24 — Dallas, Texas

Earlier this week the band released their new single “Your Ghost Again,” which is about both the death of former bandmate Brent Hinds as well as the passing of drummer Brann Dailor’s mother.

“For me, ‘Your Ghost Again’ is about when you lose somebody that’s close to you that you existed with for most of your life — or your whole life,” Dailor said, per Blabbermouth. “It’s those moments when you’re in those familiar places that you’ve always been with that person, and then, after they’re gone, you see them out of the corner of your eye, and it makes you sad because they’re not there.”

Former guitarist and vocalist Hinds died in a motorcycle crash on Aug. 20, 2025. He had parted ways with the band in March of that year after about 25 years together. Hinds later claimed on social media that he had been kicked out of the group.

“We are in a state of unfathomable sadness and grief,” Mastodon said at the time in a statement posted to social media. “Last night Brent Hinds passed away as a result of a tragic accident. We are heartbroken, shocked, and still trying to process the loss of this creative force with whom we’ve shared so many triumphs, milestones, and the creation of music that has touched the hearts of so many.”
