The actual awards show might be over, but Grammy season continues as The Recording Academy has officially unveiled this year’s inductees into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
The Grammy HoF is meant to honor those albums and songs that “exhibit qualitative or historical significance and are at least 25 years old.” And this year’s honorees are headed up by just such iconic bands/records: Radiohead, Funkadelic, and 2Pac. Thom Yorke and company enter those hallowed halls on the back of their seminal OK Computer, which turns 29 this year. Funkadelic, meanwhile, earned the honor through their own seminal album, 1971’s Maggot Brain. And, finally, Tupac’s All Eyez on Me celebrates its 30th anniversary with an induction.
“It’s a privilege to recognize these influential recordings as the 2026 Grammy Hall Of Fame inductees,” said Harvey Mason, Jr., CEO of The Recording Academy. “Each selection reflects the creativity, craft, and cultural impact that recorded music can carry across decades. We’re honored to help preserve these works and celebrate the artists and communities behind them, so their legacies continue to inspire generations to come.”
This year’s album inductees also include Selena (Amor Prohibido), Lucinda Williams (Car Wheels on a Grave Road), Heart (Dreamboat Annie), Alice Coltrane (Journey in Satchidananda), Nick Drake (Pink Moon), and Janet Jackson (Rhythm Nation 1814). Song honorees include Eric B. & Rakim (“Paid in Full”), Bertha “Chippie” Hill (“Trouble in Mind”), and The Rouse Brothers (“Orange Blossom Special”).
With this year’s honorees, the Grammy Hall Of Fame now features 1,179 inducted recordings. (Each new inductee is selected by “a special member committee of eminent and knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the recording arts.”) The 2026 honorees will be celebrated as part of the Grammy Hall Of Fame Gala, which takes place on May 8th at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California (with performers to be announced).
