BET Awards 2026
From Beyoncé’s all-time crown to Kendrick Lamar’s winning streak, here are the five most exciting wins that could shift history on Culture’s Biggest Night.

The BET Awards always know how to deliver a moment, but every so often the night also becomes a numbers game. This year, that very numbers game is adding up to shift award-winning history for many of our faves.

Cardi B leads this year’s nominations with six nods, Kendrick Lamar and Mariah the Scientist follow with five each, and with two new categories, the Fashion Vanguard Award and the Pulse Award, the scoreboard could shift in more than one direction.

And that is what makes this particular record-watch fun. These are the kinds of numbers that tell the story of who has ruled a category for years, who is still adding to a legacy that already feels untouchable, and who could turn a strong night into a little bit of BET history. Check out the five potential wins that could break records at the BET Awards.

Beyoncé—All-Time BET Awards Lead

Queen Bey remains the most-awarded artist in BET Awards history with 36 wins across her solo work, Destiny’s Child, and The Carters. If Bey takes home the Fashion Vanguard Award, that total climbs to 37, and the gap between her and everybody else gets even harder to reach.

Cardi B—Most Wins In One Night

Cardi B is nominated for six awards and could break or tie the record for the most BET Awards won in a single night. The record is currently jointly held by Beyoncé (five wins in 2016 & 2017) and Kendrick Lamar (five wins in 2025). The record could also be tied by Mariah the Scientist, who is nominated for five awards at the 2026 ceremony (technically, Mariah the Scientist could also win six awards, as she is nominated twice in the Viewer’s Choice category).

Kendrick Lamar—Best Male Hip Hop Artist

Kendrick already owns eight wins in Best Male Hip Hop Artist, more than anyone else in the category, so every new win is basically him extending his own house record. Another victory would make it nine and keep one of BET’s most dominant category streaks very much intact.

SZA—Video of the Year

SZA already has a Video of the Year win for “Kill Bill,” and the category page shows that Beyoncé is the only woman with more than one. That means another SZA win would make her only the second female artist ever to win Video of the Year more than once.

Chris Brown—Best Male R&B/Pop Artist

Chris Brown is the all-time leader in Best Male R&B/Pop Artist with 8 wins, and he is once again in this year’s nominations mix. A 2026 win would push him to 9 and keep his grip on one of BET’s longest-running performance-focused records.
