This year’s ceremony, which celebrated the ‘craft, cultural impact and enduring importance of songs and screen compositions’, was held at Grosvenor House in London earlier today (21 May)
16 songwriters and composers were presented with Ivor Novello Awards across 14 categories this year. Among the major winners was Sam Fender, who won Songwriter of the Year, and Kae Tempest, who triumphed in the Best Contemporary Song category for the track I Stand On The Line.
Elsewhere, Calvin Harris took home the PRS for Music Icon Award, while Lola Young won the PRS for Music Most Performed Work award for the continued success of her 2024 hit Messy.
George Michael and Thom Yorke were both inducted into the Ivors Academy Fellowship. Lily Allen won the Outstanding Song Collection award, while recent M Magazine cover star Jacob Alon won Best Song Musically and Lyrically for their song Don’t Fall Asleep and the Rising Star Award.
