MILEY Cyrus has revealed her hit teen show Hannah Montana is BACK for a 20th anniversary special.
The actress and singer – who played the lead character Miley Stewart on the much-loved series, is set to reflect on the lasting impact of the show.
The special is expected to be filmed in front of a live studio audience and feature a reconstructed set from the show.
It will include never-before-seen footage, along with an exclusive interview with Miley, 33, hosted by Call Her Daddy podcaster Alex Cooper.
It was announced on Tuesday that the special is coming to Disney+ on 24 March 2026.
Miley shared her excitement, saying: “Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am.
“What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection.
“The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of.
“This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”
Miley also shared a short trailer of her arriving at the studio as she got out of the car wearing a pair of heeled black boots.
She captioned it: “Going back to where it all began.
“The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special premieres March 24 on Disney+,” followed by the hashtag Miley’s memories.
Her loyal fans were thrilled with the news and raced to comment on the post.
One wrote: “THIS IS NOT A DRILL. PULLING WIG OUT OF STORAGE IMMEDIATELY”
A second posted: “Nostalgia hits hard. Feels like yesterday we were all trying to sing along and figure out what ‘Best of Both Worlds’ even meant.”
Another added: “HANNAH MONTANA IS BACK LIFE IS WORTH LIVING.”
The show ran for four seasons between 2006 to 2011.
Hannah Montana was a popular series that followed the life of Miley Stewart, a typical teenager who had a big secret.
She was Miley by day but famous pop singer Hannah Montana by night, and her identity was only known to her family and closest friends.
When the show first premiered in 2006, Miley was 13 years old, but as she got older, playing a child star just didn’t feel right anymore so she decided to hang up her famous blonde wig and put her Disney days behind her.
“The minute I had sex, I was kind of like, I can’t put the f***ing wig on again,” Cyrus explained during a 2019 interview with Elle.
“It got weird. It just felt like…I was grown up.
“…I’m not a Disney mascot. I’m a person,” she added.
After Hannah Montana ended in 2011, she focused on music, releasing the albums Bangerz, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, Younger Now, SHE IS COMING, Plastic Hearts, and Endless Summer Vacation.
In the last episode of Hannah Montana, Miley received an offer from Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise to shoot a movie in Paris for a year, meaning she would be unable to go to college with her best friend Lily (Emily Osment).
She decides to not tell Lilly and instead tries to persuade her to come to the decision of not wanting to go to college with Miley, but Miley does reveal the truth in the end, which of course makes Lilly very upset.
Miley then asks for Lilly to come with her to Paris, and the latter agrees.
Things took another turn as before they were due to board the plane, Lilly told Miley that she had decided to go to college without her.
But the pair did get their happy ending as Lilly received a knock on her dorm room door and in came Miley, who said: “I’m Miley, I’m your new roommate.”
