Artists such as Ciza, Lord Kez, Thuli P, DJ Fif_Laa, and Thabsie performed live during the event. The ceremony was hosted by entertainer Bontle Modiselle-Moloi, and the red carpet coverage was delivered by Keegan Gordon and Zayaan Noorani. Athlete Akani Simbine gave the Sport Creator of the Year award, while Mihlali Ndamase delivered the Video of the Year award.
On the evening, artists from Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, and Tanzania were acknowledged. Partner brands such as NIVEA, inDrive, Coca-Cola, PEP, and Dis-Chem supported the awards.
“The trailblazers who have revolutionized what it means to be a creator in Africa came together for the celebration tonight. We honored the creators who transformed 60-second videos into cultural movements from Sokoto to Nairobi, Accra to Pretoria,” stated Boniswa Sidwaba, head of content operations for Sub-Saharan Africa at TikTok. “As they raise their voices and share their stories from Africa with the world, we are honored to celebrate them.”
