Review Overview

Jacob Banks has always been a storyteller first. His voice feels like it has been carved out of experience, faith, and fire. With Yonder: Book III, he closes the final chapter of his soul searching trilogy, and honestly, it is one of his most heartfelt works to date.

This EP feels less like a collection of songs and more like a quiet conversation between Jacob and the listener. It is stripped down, vulnerable, and soaked in emotion. The kind of project you sit with late at night, maybe with a glass of wine and all your thoughts spilling out.

The opening track “Blame It On God” sets the tone immediately. Over soft strings and minimal percussion, Banks questions faith, pain, and the messy beauty of being human. His voice does not just sing, it aches. You can feel the weight in every syllable, like he is exhaling years of reflection.

Then comes “Heavy Love,” a song that feels like a deep breath. It is tender but powerful, raw but refined. The kind of song that reminds you why Jacob’s vocals stand out in today’s landscape. There is no auto tune, no polish, just honest emotion.

“All My Love” turns the energy up slightly, weaving warmth and yearning together in a way that only Banks can. It is soulful without being showy, nostalgic yet fresh. The perfect bridge between vulnerability and groove.

When “Sugarcoat” rolls in, it feels like a sunrise breaking through the clouds. There is a little bounce to it, a spark of light after the introspection of the earlier tracks. It shows Jacob’s ability to experiment with sound while staying true to his soulful roots.

The closing track “Gone Are The Days” is pure poetry. It is a goodbye letter wrapped in hope, a slow burn anthem about letting go, growing, and moving forward. It ends not with a bang but with a sense of peace, like he has finally found what he has been searching for since Book I.

What makes Yonder: Book III special is its honesty. There is no rush, no pretense, just a man telling his truth through music. Each song feels like a page torn from a journal, carried by that rich, raspy voice that sounds both timeless and unmistakably modern.

Jacob Banks reminds us that vulnerability is power, and Yonder: Book III is proof that sometimes, the quietest moments speak the loudest.
