LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Marvel fans are eagerly watching the calendar as speculation continues to build that the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday could debut during next week’s San Diego Comic-Con.
While Marvel Studios has not officially announced when the trailer will be released, the studio is returning to Hall H at Comic-Con, where it has historically unveiled major announcements, exclusive footage and first looks at some of its biggest upcoming films.
The anticipation comes as Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2026, marking the next major chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
One of the film’s biggest storylines is the return of Academy Award-winning actor Robert Downey Jr. to the Marvel franchise. Rather than reprising his role as Iron Man, Downey is set to portray the iconic Marvel villain Doctor Doom, a casting announcement that surprised fans when it was revealed last year.
Although Marvel has remained tight-lipped about the plot, fans are hoping the first trailer will provide a closer look at Doctor Doom, the newest Avengers lineup and how the film will connect to the studio’s future crossover events.
Entertainment insiders have speculated that Marvel could unveil the trailer during its Hall H presentation before releasing it online for audiences worldwide. However, the studio has not confirmed those reports.
If a trailer is released, it would likely mark the first substantial footage from one of Marvel’s most anticipated films and could offer new clues about the direction of the MCU leading into Avengers: Secret Wars.
Until Marvel makes an official announcement, fans will have to wait and see whether next week finally delivers the long-awaited first look at Avengers: Doomsday.
