Lana Del Rey’s husband, Jeremy Dufrene, addressed longtime speculation that he’s a MAGA supporter.
Lana appeared to have first met Jeremy, a swamp boat captain, in 2019, when she did one of his Louisiana boat tours. They sparked dating rumors in August 2024, after they were seen holding hands at a festival, and married a month later.

Last year, Lana told W magazine that Jeremy is “the most impactful person” in her life.

“He’s quiet in public, but around me he talks all the time,” she said, before describing how they spend time together. “Jeremy and I have what we call ‘parking-lot time,'” she shared. “We spend so much time in parking lots, just reading or talking in the car. Sometimes, in life, you think you’re the only one in the world who loves a particular thing, like sitting in an empty Macy’s or Home Depot parking lot. You might be really weird to some people, but then you find another soul who feels the same way.”

While little else is publicly known about Jeremy, some fans have speculated about his political views. Rumors have pointed to his appearance, where he’s from, and past activity on a Facebook account believed to belong to him, including an unverified 2022 post favoring Donald Trump over Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. BuzzFeed located an account featuring photos of Jeremy and his boat tours, but did not see the posts in question.
Now, Jeremy is speaking out for himself.
On Feb. 10, he and Lana stepped out for Ralph Lauren’s fall 2026 runway show in New York City, where they were recorded sitting in the front row. In a video of the moment, one viewer referred to him as Lana’s “MAGA husband.”
He replied, “No MAGA supporter here.”

Jeremy also responded to another comment criticizing Lana. After one fan wrote, “She’s so happy,” another replied, “Yeah she found someone who loves cults and racism like her.”
Jeremy fired back, “People like you are sad and miserable or jealous.”

Lana has also addressed allegations of racism herself. In 2020, she faced backlash for saying how “Doja Cat, Ariana, Camila, Cardi B, Kehlani and Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé” make music about “being sexy, wearing no clothes… cheating, etc.” while defending herself from criticism she receives for her music. Many readers quickly called her out for singling out almost only women of color.
In response, Lana wrote, “Don’t ever ever ever call me racist. The singers I mentioned are my favorite singers so if you want to try and make a bone to pick out of that, like you always do be my guest.”
While her current political affiliation is unknown, she publicly criticized Kanye “Ye” West in 2018 after he shared support for Trump.
“Trump becoming our president was a loss for the country, but your support of him is a loss for the culture,” she wrote on his page at the time. “If you support someone who believes it’s okay to grab a woman by the pussy just because he’s famous — then you need an intervention as much as he does — something so many narcissists will never get because there just isn’t enough help for the issue.”
