The singer took to Instagram and released a statement to say she is calling it quits with the shooting guard.
The Mavericks‘ dreadful season just took another interesting plot twist.
Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion have reportedly ended their relationship, with the singer accusing the shooting guard of infidelity. She said as much in a a statement through her representatives.
“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward,” Stallion said. “I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
Thompson’s former fling first announced the couple was through in an Instagram story, where she used much harsher language to describe the end of the relationship. The Mavericks‘ veteran has not released a statement. The two had been together since July of 2025, when Thompson first made it official by posting photos of the couple in The Bahamas.
The five-time All-Star was heavily invested in the relationship at one point, even naming his boat after the singer. Now however, it appears the trouble in paradise was too much for the pair to overcome.
Thompson is heading into the final year of a three-year, $50 million deal he signed with the Mavericks ahead of the 2024-25 season. He averaged 11.7 points and 1.4 assists while shooting 38.3% from 3-point range in 2025-26.
