Katseye’s Manon

Katseye member Manon Bannerman will be taking a temporary leave of absence from the two-time Grammy-nominated girl group to focus on her “health and wellbeing.”

The announcement was made on Weverse, a global fandom platform used by South Korean multinational company, talent agency and record label Hybe, which is behind acts like Katseye and BTS.

“After open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing,” the statement began. “We fully support this decision. KATSEYE remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right.”

The message concluded with a note of gratitude to the group’s fans: “Thank you to our EYEKONS for your continued love, patience, and understanding.”

Earlier this month at the 68th Grammy Awards, Katseye — comprising members Yoonchae Jeung, Megan Skiendiel, Lara Raj, Sophia Laforteza, Daniela Avanzini and Bannerman — took the stage to perform its first Billboard Hot 100 entry, single “Gnarly.” Katseye was among the Best New Artist nominees slated to perform that evening, alongside Addison Rae, Alex Warren, Leon Thomas, The Marías, SOMBR, Olivia Dean and Lola Young. The group was also nominated for its Top 40 second single, “Gabriela.”

Formed through the 2023 reality competition series Dream Academy, Katseye is a product of a unique collaboration between American record label Geffen Records and Korean juggernaut Hybe, blending K-pop sensibilities and rigorous star training to bring forth a globally resonant and multicultural group.

Next up, Katseye is set to perform at Coachella in April.
