KATSEYE achieved what they called their “No. 1 dream” as a group by playing Coachella this year, taking the Sahara Stage at 8:00 p.m. for a set that was massive in its hits, sound and stage design for the first day of Coachella Weekend 1.
Looking as if the girl group built a miniature cityscape just for the performance, KATSEYE members Sophia Laforteza, Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, and Yoonchae Jeung took the stage as five (sixth member Manon Bannerman is still on a hiatus announced February 20) and kicked off their set with the first-ever performance of their newly released single “Pinky Up.”
As KATSEYE powered through early singles like “Debut” and “Touch,” the group delivered what will likely be one of the biggest and best surprise moments of Coachella 2026 when they began singing “Golden” from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack with HUNTR/X vocalists EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami soon joining them for a full-fledged girl-group duet moment.
“Coachella, we are so, so grateful,” Lara told the huge crowd in Indio in one of the group’s many moments expressing their gratitude. “Coachella has been our No. 1 dream since we became a group, so I’m so happy you guys are here to witness that. There will be many more Coachellas after today.” Daniela echoed that the festival has been a longtime dream for her, adding, “This is a very special moment for us.”
As a global girl group representing several different territories and areas across the world, KATSEYE also didn’t miss the opportunity to celebrate that diversity and inspire those who look like them. Lara told the crowd, “I want to say, ‘Shout out to my brown girls, my South Asians.’ I love you guys. Anything is possible, all we want to do is inspire — we love you.”
