Next month, Foo Fighters will release Your Favorite Toy, the hard rock group’s upcoming twelfth full length. The set follows But Here We Are by three years, and the band has already been promoting Your Favorite Toy for months.

  • Foo Fighters’ “Caught in the Echo” Debuts in the U.K.
  • Foo Fighters Reach a Career Milestone With New Single
  • Foo Fighters’ The Essential Returns as a New Album Nears
  • Foo Fighters Almost Hit No. 1 with The Essential
  • The Essential Nears Three Years on the Streaming Chart
  • Foo Fighters’ “Caught in the Echo” Trails Earlier Singles

The troupe shared the first single “Asking for a Friend” in mid-October of 2025, while the title track dropped in mid February. One month later, “Caught in the Echo” has been chosen as the third official single from the forthcoming full-length, and it debuts on several charts in the United Kingdom.

As “Caught in the Echo” becomes a bestseller – if only a momentary and minor one – it helps one beloved compilation from the Grammy winners return to even more rankings than where the band’s latest single arrives.

Foo Fighters’ “Caught in the Echo” Debuts in the U.K.

“Caught in the Echo” starts on both the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales charts. The new Foo Fighters cut opens at No. 83 on the list of the most-purchased tracks on platforms such as iTunes and Amazon throughout only the U.K. The song makes it to the main list of the bestselling tunes of any genre, language and via any platform, where it begins its time at No. 88.

Foo Fighters Reach a Career Milestone With New Single

Foo Fighters have now collected 26 appearances on the Official Singles Downloads chart. The Dave Grohl-led band earns its milestone twentieth win on the Official Singles Sales tally as its latest focus track debuts.

Foo Fighters’ The Essential Returns as a New Album Nears

“Caught in the Echo” is brand new, but it helps turn a years old compilation – one it isn’t even featured on – from Foo Fighters into a top performer again in the U.K. The Essential, which dropped in 2022, finds its way back to multiple rosters as anticipation builds for Your Favorite Toy.

The Essential manages to reenter three rosters across the Atlantic, and it’s a top 40 success story once more on only the Official Rock and Metal Albums list. On that roster, which only features 40 pegs, The Essential sneaks back in and settles at No. 39.

The same compilation performs significantly worse when looking at two of the U.K.’s most competitive albums rosters. The compilation finds its way to No. 95 on the Official Albums Streaming chart. The same release can also be found, once again, on the U.K.’s list of the most consumed EPs and full-lengths. The title barely manages to find its way back to that tally this week, as The Essential appears at No. 100 on the 100-space rundown.

Foo Fighters Almost Hit No. 1 with The Essential

Among all three of those rankings, The Essential has performed best on the Official Rock and Metal Albums chart. It’s not surprising that the compilation has risen highest on the list of the bestselling collections in those genres and subgenres, though it has yet to rule. The Essential almost earned Foo Fighters another No. 1, but instead stalled at No. 2.

The same gathering of hit songs also cracked the highest tier on the Official Albums chart, where it peaked at No. 10. The compilation nearly became a top 10 streaming sensation as well, but it missed out on finding its way into the uppermost space on the streaming list by just one rung.

The Essential Nears Three Years on the Streaming Chart

While The Essential by Foo Fighters has risen highest on the Official Rock and Metal Albums chart, that is the tally where it has spent the least amount of time, and it is significantly behind in terms of longevity on the other two rosters.

The Essential has passed 100 frames on both the Official Albums and Official Albums Streaming rankings long ago – the other two rosters where it returns this frame. In fact, it is nearing three years as one of the most-streamed collections in the nation.

Foo Fighters’ “Caught in the Echo” Trails Earlier Singles

“Caught in the Echo” is the third tune taken from Your Favorite Toy to reach both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts, and so far, it is the worst performer of the three. The album’s title track nearly broke into the top 20, while “Asking for a Friend” outpaced “Caught in the Echo” by several dozen spaces on the rosters.
